Leonard Debickero
Senior Associate, Technical Director
As FGMA’s Technical Director, Leonard works tirelessly to ensure that the systems, processes, tools and technologies which support the firm’s commitment to quality are in place. He works closely with project teams to help problem-solve design challenges related to building materials, methods and technologies. Leonard also contributes quality control management, building envelope review and analysis, building performance systems, building/material standards and constructability analysis and specifications.
Leonard’s professional focus took root in his childhood, spending time with his father who could “take something apart and put it back together in record time.” Throughout his extensive career, he’s worked with designers on countless projects to ensure that their visions take shape. In his own words, “I am passionate about intelligent design incorporating building technology by being thoughtful both socially and environmentally. Driven by values of perfection, I’ve learned to balance that with satisfying each client’s needs and supporting the greater community.”
Leonard grew up on Chicago’s South Side; after working in the Chicagoland region for many years, he and his wife moved to Phoenix to be near their daughter. When he’s not working, he loves to spend time with family, hiking and being outdoors, tinkering with classic cars and following Chicago sports. A longtime gardener, he has relished the opportunity to learn new techniques in the desert climate.
