John Dzarnowski, AIA, joined FGMA in 2007 as leader of the firm’s Municipal and Recreational practice. Appointed President in 2018, he now succeeds John Ochoa as FGMA Chief Executive Officer. He served as a Director of AIA Northeast Illinois from 2001-2009 and Board President in 2008. Dzarnowski received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Detroit.
Tim Kwiatkowski, AIA, joined FGMA in 1999. He was named Executive Vice President and Managing Director of FGMA’s St. Louis region in 2018. In that capacity, he has led the growth of the firm’s practice throughout Missouri while maintaining its strength in Central/Southern Illinois. As FGMA President, Kwiatkowski will oversee operations in the firm’s six offices located in Illinois, Missouri, Texas, and Wisconsin. Kwiatkowski is a board member of the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois as well as a member of the Society of American Military Engineers. He received his Bachelor Degree in Architectural Studies from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
Speaking for FGMA’s Board of Directors, Chairman John Ochoa, AIA, comments that,
“I am so pleased to see John and Tim assume these new roles. I have had the pleasure of working with both for many years and have great confidence in their vision, experience, and leadership skills. Under John Dzarnowski’s direction, the firm has developed a strong Strategic Plan, and as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary, we are moving confidently into the next chapter of the firm’s success.”
Taken together, these appointments complete a 4th generation leadership transition. Founded in 1945, FGMA’s founding partners were Cliff Fields, Jack Goldman, and George Magee. Upon their retirement in the 1970s, Ed Rosenberger led the firm until 1999 when John Ochoa was named President and, in 2001, Chief Executive Officer.
