After 30 years at its Oak Brook, Illinois office, FGM Architects (FGMA)’s continuous employee growth and the need for enhanced support spaces propelled the expansion into a larger and more effective office space. The team will be closing its Oak Brook office and opening its new office at Westbrook Corporate Center (WCC) in Westchester on Feb. 10, 2025.
FGMA Westbrook’s address will be 1 Westbrook Corporate Center, Suite 1000, Westchester, IL 60154.
FGMA will occupy the entirety of the 10th floor in Tower One. Three wings, two of which will be dedicated studio space and one for corporate staff, merge in the middle. Spaces like reception, kitchen, conference rooms, a materials studio, printing and supplies will be centralized for efficient access for all.
"In our aim to Build Community, we need to make sure that we are addressing the needs of our own FGMA community,” said FGMA Project Manager Troy Kerr, AIA, LEED AP BD+C.
The design for the new office began with a comprehensive needs analysis that included employee input from every department. The internal team simultaneously began working with real estate partner CBRE to evaluate available spaces that met the criteria for location, size and amenities. With a location secured, partners Whitney Architects and Interiors for Business could begin planning the layout, specific space use, aesthetic and furniture details. Placing the final piece of the puzzle, Executive Construction is bringing the vision to life.
“We are all very excited for this big move over to Westbrook Corporate Center,” said Michael Becker, AIA, Architect and Project Manager at FGMA. “We have an incredible project team working on this, and our hope is that this new office space will completely change the way we feel about coming into work.”
