FGM Celebrates Opening of Grand Ballroom at Chevy Chase Country Club

A good time was had by all! Many thanks to our partner, Camosy Construction, for hosting this get together! The renovations to the Devonshire Room and the Grand Ballroom definitely “wowed” us. This historic Tudor-style country club is steeped in history. As a privately held Club when it opened in 1927, it is said to have been a favorite hang out for Al Capone and other members of the “mob” during the prohibition era.

The renovations are beautifully modern while allowing the historic elements to shine through. The County Club features not only two event/meeting spaces, with the Grand Ballroom and the stately Devonshire Room (including its elegant adjoining pre-event space), but also boasts a pristine 18 hole golf course and gorgeous U-shaped bar at the clubhouse’s Gable Bar & Grill.

The newly renovated site is an ideal space for corporate events and the beautiful grounds, ballroom and “bride” and “groom” rooms make it a perfect spot to tie the knot! In fact, this project had special significance to FGM’s architect Louise Kowalczyk. Not only has she been the design architect on two separate projects for the Country Club but it is also where Louise was married!
