FGM Architects Welcomes Mike Elliott, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP


FGM Architects is pleased to announce that Mike Elliott, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP has joined the firm as a Principal in its Municipal practice.


Over a career spanning 30+ years, Elliott’s extensive design work has focused in the government, healthcare, PK-12, higher education and corporate/private sectors. His experience includes design for new, renovated and adaptive reuse facilities.


Elliott worked at FGMA earlier in his career (1999-2004) as a Project Manager. Most recently, he was a Senior Design Architect and Project Manager at Kluber Architects + Engineers. Notable recent projects include the Johnsburg Village Hall & Police Department, the Will County Health Department and expansion of the Warren Township Center. He was the lead design architect for the adaptive reuse of the Old Copley Hospital Campus in Aurora, IL.

Elliott also brings a wealth of industry leadership experience to his new role at FGMA.


Currently, he is President-Elect and Treasurer of the AIA Illinois Foundation. Previously, he was the 2017 President of AIA Illinois and 2007 President of AIA Northeast Illinois. He represented Illinois on the 2017-2020 AIA National Strategic Council and was a member of the AIA National Government Advocacy Committee. He also serves as a current Director of AIA Northeast Illinois and chairs its Committee on the Environment.

Elliott received his B.S. degree in Architectural Technology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
